Essential Job Functions

  • Cold call potential attorney candidates to assess their qualifications, gauge interest, and discuss current or future roles, contributing to a consistent pipeline of qualified candidates for our recruiters.
  • Source attorney candidates using a combination of cold calling, online platforms (LinkedIn, legal directories, job boards), and internal databases.
  • Conduct targeted cold outreach to passive candidates, introducing them to opportunities with in-house legal teams and law firms.
  • Engage in cold calling campaigns to identify new candidates for open attorney positions, while maintaining a high call volume and tracking outreach efforts effectively.
  • Build rapport with candidates through consistent follow-up calls, ensuring a positive and professional experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Collaborate with recruiters to better understand hiring needs and prioritize cold calling efforts for urgent or high-demand roles.
  • Keep organized and accurate records of all cold calls and candidate interactions, ensuring up-to-date documentation for future reference.
  • Monitor and research industry trends and legal markets to stay informed about top talent and use insights to improve cold calling strategies.
  • Develop cold calling scripts and messaging tailored to different candidate profiles to improve engagement and results.
  • Participate in bulk cold calling campaigns to reach large pools of candidates for key hiring initiatives.
  • Assist in optimizing candidate resumes and profiles post-call to ensure they are properly tailored for submissions.
  • Other candidate sourcing-related tasks as needed to support the recruitment process, with a primary focus on cold calling.

Core Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1–2 years of experience in cold calling, sourcing, recruiting, or talent acquisition.
  • Prior experience within legal recruitment or sourcing attorney candidates is a plus, but not required.

Software Expertise

Knowledge of the following applications is required:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Calendar, Word, Excel, OneDrive)
  • Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets)
  • Zoom for virtual calls

Knowledge of or willingness to learn the legal market and the business of recruiting:

  • Cold calling expertise: Comfortable making high-volume cold calls to engage passive candidates and assess their fit for attorney roles.
  • Tech-savvy: Ability to navigate sourcing tools, platforms, and databases efficiently, with strong proficiency in call-tracking systems.
  • Strong phone communication skills: Confident in initiating conversations with new candidates, overcoming objections, and nurturing relationships over the phone.
  • Superior attention to detail in documenting cold call outcomes, candidate qualifications, and follow-up actions.
  • Resilience and persistence: Able to stay motivated and maintain a positive attitude despite challenges inherent in cold calling.
  • Organizational and time management skills: Ability to prioritize cold calling tasks effectively while managing other sourcing duties.
  • Active listening: Ability to listen attentively and understand candidate needs during cold calls to better match them to opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal communication: Comfortable crafting and delivering engaging outreach messaging that resonates with candidates on the phone.
  • Proactive mindset: Capable of working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment focused on cold calling success.
